Health, health, health.
It might well be an old cliché but no-one can deny that the health of the eye is of utmost importance when selecting the best contact lens for you. So you won’t be surprised then to learn that we use the latest methods of assessment and the latest lens materials available in Australia when fitting contact lenses.
We have had great success in fitting the new silicone hydrogel lenses (such as Ciba’s Focus Night and Day lenses) that allow up to six times more oxygen through to the eye. There are even toric lenses now with this new technology (available from Ciba, Johnson+Johnson and Bausch+Lomb) for patients with astigmatism.
As you might already know, an eye starved of oxygen leads to discomfort, reduced contact lens wearing time and even corneal ulcers. The good news is that this new technology has allowed many unhappy wearers to extend their wearing times and even allowed some wearers that had given up to return to contact lenses. If you are one of these cases, please call our optometrist on 02 6162 0121 to discuss how to improve your situation.
All this talk about new technology doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten how to fit rigid contact lenses. It’s quite the opposite. Our optometrist has fitted a few patients that were referred to him by colleagues as he is open to new ideas and keen to find alternative solutions to difficult cases.
A healthy patient is a happy patient and a win-win situation for all so we’re committed to providing the best for your eyes.
If you’re keen to experience the freedom of contact lenses, to see without your glasses and to wear regular sunglasses, simply ask us for a trial and we’ll arrange the rest.
